About me, Seung-hun

The Real Korea Code

Hi there! I’m Seung-hun, a 23-year-old (that’s the Korean age—I’m 21 by the international standard!) born and raised in the heart of Seoul, South Korea.

To me, traveling isn’t just about visiting famous spots. It’s about diving into a completely different lifestyle—the clothes people wear, the food they crave, their hobbies, and even the unique “vibe” and perspective of their culture.

That’s exactly why I started ‘The Real Korea Code.’ As someone who truly loves Korea, I want to help you experience “100% pure Korean vibes.” Even just watching how an ordinary Korean student lives can be a great inspiration, right?

On this blog, I’ll be sharing:

  • A Glimpse into My Life: The daily grind of a Korean Medicine (Han-eui) student.
  • Local Eats: Foods you must try (not just the touristy ones!).
  • Hidden Gems: Places where locals actually hang out.

I hope you have an amazing time exploring my world. Welcome to the code!

It’s me!
But……… take this photo with a grain of salt. You know the internet rule, right?

This is me back in 2025, grinding at a “Boarding Hagwon” (a residential prep school). In Korea, education is incredibly competitive, and it’s very common for students to retake the national entrance exam (Suneung) two or three times to get into their dream university. After a year of intense focus here, I finally earned my spot in Korean Medicine school. This was one of the most challenging but rewarding chapters of my life.

You might already know this, but most Korean men complete about two years of mandatory military service in their early 20s. I proudly served in the Air Force. This photo was taken during one of my leaves—I’m the one in uniform, having a drink with my buddy. (I blurred his face because he looks like a squid in this shot, even though he’s usually a good-looking guy..). That thing he’s holding is my military name tag.

The Han River and Lotte World Tower, captured during my ride on a “Ttareungi” (Seoul’s public bike). Seoul has a fantastic public bike system, so I often go for a ride along the Han River whenever I need to clear my head or just refresh my vibe.
